In response to the recent economic climate and the impacts by the COVID-19 pandemic, a Community Job Fair will be held on March 15th from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Rahway Recreation Center, located at 275 E. The upcoming job fair will feature MERCK Pharmaceuticals, RWJBarnabas Health, YMCA, Watt Hotel, and other local employers offering positions for all experience levels and across industries including pharmaceutical, medical, administrative, and customer service. Entry level positions will be available as well.

Employer registration is complimentary for Rahway based businesses and available at rahwayishappening.com/jobfair.

“In meetings with local businesses, one of the major reoccurring themes has been how staffing shortages are negatively impacting them,” said Rahway Mayor Raymond Giacobbe. Both Mayor Giacobbe and Rahway City Council President Joanna Miles called upon the Rahway Special Improvement District (SID) to act in a proactive way by hosting a job fair. “This is an important initiative for our local economy, as it will assist employers in getting the quality talent needed while simultaneously providing good paying jobs to the residents of our community,” continued Giacobbe. Council President Miles echoed the mayor’s sentiment and acknowledged the invaluable help of the Rahway Chamber of Commerce and the Union County Board of County Commissioners who are partnering with this event.

Heidi Loder-Rosal, President of the Rahway Chamber of Commerce, has expressed the Chamber’s commitment to helping connect employers and job seekers, especially in this challenging environment.
