June 1 at 3 pm Kid’s Chess – Informal chess games for children of all ages. Note this is non-instructional supervised play. No registration required. Limit 12.

June 4  from 11am to 5 pm – Garwood Rocks – Come visit the Library’s booth at the town street fair. Sign up for a card, learn about our programs, enter our raffle.

June 5, 12, 19, and 26 at 10:30 am – Knitting Club  Join our Knitting Club. Open to all levels, whether you’re a beginner or you want to share your vast knowledge of knitting, or just spend an hour being creative and socializing. No Registration required. Yarn and needles provided to newcomers

June  6 – Primary Election – The Garwood Public Library is a polling location. The Library will be open, the children’s section will be closed. Computers and seating are not available. Browsing and check out are permitted.

June 7 – LEGO Club at 3 pm Be inspired by this week’s theme or build whatever comes to mind. Then share your creation with others. Registration required by phone or in person. Limit 12 children ages 4 -12.

June 7 at  7:30 pm – Library Board Meeting – A meeting of the Garwood Library Board of Trustees will take place in the Library. This meeting is open to the public.

June 8, 15, and 22 at 10:00 am – YoBoo for Children – Join us at Hartman Park located at 431 Second Ave in Garwood at 10:00 am for YoBOO. It is a unique Yoga-based fitness program for little ones (ages 2-8). Don’t forget your yoga mat or beach towel. Registration required. Limit 20.

June 13 at 3:00 pm – Virtual Kid’s Craft – Pick up supplies for a craft, then watch the craft tutorial on the Library’s Facebook page at 3 pm. The video will be available for viewing thereafter. Registration is required for craft kits and is limited to 15 participants. Sign up on the Library’s website calendar or by phone.

June 14 from 10:00 am to Noon – Aging Services Kiosk – Union County Division of Aging Staff will be on hand to assist seniors (age 60+) or their caregivers with information on services, such as meal delivery, respite care, adult day care and support services for caregivers

June 19 at 1:00 pm – Book Club – Join us for a lively discussion of this month’s book. Check with the Library for their latest book selection. 908-789-1670.

June 20, and 27th at 10:00 am and 11:00 am – Storytime – Join Miss Maryanne for stories, bubbles, and more. Registration Required. No Storytime on June 6 or 13

June 16th – Library Closed

June 28 at 2:30 pm – Summer Reading Opening Party – It’s the Summer Reading Kick-Off event in the Library parking lot with giveaways, the SCREAM TRUCK, and an Obstacle Course. This event is open to those registered for summer reading. Registration required. IF YOU WANT RUN THE OBSTACLE COURSE. PLEASE WEAR SNEAKERS.

June 29 at 1:30 pm – Magic Show – Join Muscle Man Mike and his puppet Spidey for non-stop magic. Registration required. Limit 30
