Short Hills Troop 17 Promotes 7 New Eagle Scouts

Troop 17 promotes 7 New Eagle Scouts

Submitted by Scout Emcee Nate P.

This year, Troop 17 celebrated the achievements of seven new Eagle Scouts during an Eagle Court of Honor. Eagle courts of honor are fully developed celebrations recognizing Scouts who have attained Scouting’s highest rank. Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mayor Miggins, Dr. Burton, Dr. Miron, Father Larry, and Mr. Cannon, who came to show their support for the Troop.

We also heard a recap of the scouting activities this year from SPL Will D., as well as remarks from each Eagle Scout. We express our gratitude to all the Scouts, parents, and guests involved, and congratulate Ian, James, Gabe, Ben, Matthew, Lukas, and Akira for their remarkable dedication to the Troop and their outstanding community service contributions.

Troop 17 meets on Thursday nights at St. Rose of Lima in Short Hills and is accepting new members for the upcoming Scouting year. Please visit Troop17ShortHills.com to learn more.
