Honoring 2023 Women of Achievement

Twelve Thursday Morning Club members attended the 129th Annual Convention of the New Jersey Federation of Women’s Clubs (NJSFWC) in Atlantic City on May 1-3. They and the other 300+ members of women’s clubs throughout NJ celebrated the recognition of five New Jersey Women of Achievement, who were honored for their dedicated service to NJ communities, including addressing health disparities in underserved communities, advancing women in STEAM, ending homelessness, and integrating open space for environmental benefit. Inspiring presentations were given by the State President, Shirley Holly, and the General Federation International President, Debra Strahanoski, highlighting the NJ members’ 17,000 service projects and over 300,000 volunteer hours annually that help communities throughout the state.

The Thursday Morning Club, a social and non-profit service organization, owns, operates, and maintains the Madison Community House, located at 25 Cook Ave., Madison, and its Before and After School Child Care Program. Organized in 1896, the Club is a member of both the New Jersey State and General Federation of Women’s Clubs. The Club offers programs and services to support the community, and its Community House provides a home for a number of sports, recreation, and civic groups.
