Registration is open for all summer programs at the Westfield Recreation Department. Residents are encouraged to get out of the house this summer beginning with our Outdoor Tai Chi program on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. at the Mindowaskin Park Gazebo and by joining the “party” with our “LaBlast” Fitness Class on Mondays evenings 7:30 to 8:20 p.m. Both provide an enriching and fun experience.
For kids, the Recreation Department offers a variety of Enrichment Camps which include:
Sewing/Fashion Design, Junior Scientist, Creative Kids, Groovy Girls and Tech-gineering. If your child loves LEGOS we offer Lego-Engineering camps such as Intro to STEM and STEM Challenge, Minecraft and Minecraft Master, Jedi and Jedi Master. Enrichment camps are Monday to Friday for one week and hours vary.
Kids can “Be Active” this summer participating in our Weekly Soccer Classes with United Soccer Academy and Weekly USSI Multi-Sports classes for ages 2 to 6. Back by popular demand our USA and USSI instructors are also hosting week-long Sports Camps for ages 2 to 14. Lacrosse, Field Hockey, Soccer, Multi-Sports, and Golf are just a few offered. There is a camp program for every age, with full and half days and evenings available. Check out the schedule at ussportsinstitute.com.
We also offer our Traditional Week-Long Sport Camps which are led by local area coaches and have a lot to offer any athlete. Register now for Basketball, Flag Football, Golf Academy, Tennis (adults and kids), Volleyball (girls and boys sessions), Fencing and Wrestling. If you are looking for a flexible summer program, then our Summer Playground is for you. Playground offers arts and crafts, multiple sports, board games, special days, playground swims and local trips. Playground is offered to Westfield resident children only who have completed kindergarten through 8th grade. This program requires in-person registration.
If you love Amusement Parks, the department offers Discount Tickets to many of the areas attractions such as: Morey’s Piers, Great Adventure, Hurricane Harbor, Hershey Park, Dorney Park/Wildwater Kingdom, Mountain Creek, Clementon Park, Splash Zone, Sahara Sam’s Oasis, Casino Pier & Breakwater Beach, Philadelphia Zoo, Adventure Aquarium, DiggerLand USA, and Medieval Times. Tickets are available at the Recreation Office during office hours and payable by check or exact cash.
