Sally is survived by her long-time love and companion, Barry Schlesinger, her three sons, John Nigro of Townsend, Delaware, Joseph Nigro of Whitehouse Texas and James Nigro (Vivienne) of Mendham, New Jersey, her brother, Joseph Racaniello (Mary Ann) of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, her sister Rose Blacklock (Michael) of Covington, Louisiana, her grandchildren, James Vincent Nigro, Nicholas Nigro, Anthony Nigro, Jade Nigro, Gregory Nigro, Jacqueline Nigro, Jesse Nigro, and Kristian Nigro, four great-grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Sally was born on June 16, 1945 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Orange, New Jersey to Joseph and Ediconda ‘Connie’ Racaniello and was raised in West Orange, New Jersey. She married at a young age and was 19 years old when her first son, John, was born.

When they were younger, Sally used to treat her sons to summer visits to the Jersey Shore, trips to the local shop for comic books, visits to see extended family, cooking their favorite meals (she was an awesome cook), baking their favorite treats (she was an awesome baker, too), late-night trips to White Castle, and going all out for special occasions like birthdays and holidays, among many other things.

Sally worked as Assistant Tax Collector for Chatham Township, New Jersey for 25 years before retiring from that position at the end of 2009.
