September Events for Adults at the Union Public Library

The Union Public Library has exciting events planned for adults during the month of September 2018 at both the Main Library (MN) and Vauxhall Branch (VH).

All programs are free and open to the public.

Please note that both libraries will continue to be closed on Saturdays until September 15, 2018.

September is Library Card Sign Up Month! Whether you’re looking for a job, starting a small business, trying a new hobby, or pursuing a degree, Union Public Library offers the resources and programming you need. There’s something for everyone here. Come get a library card this month and discover a universe of FREE STUFF!

Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 – October 15!
Be sure to check out the programs celebrating Hispanic heritage and culture going on at the Main Library and Vauxhall Branch both this month and next.

Voter Registration Day is September 25!
Tables will be set up at both the Main Library and Vauxhall Branch that day, so be sure to stop by to register!

Join us for Tech Instruction and learn how to download e-books and e-audiobooks from our digital resources using your library card. Advanced registration is required.

Adult Movie Night
Monday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m.
This romantic comedy is about four older women who reevaluate their lives and personal relationships after reading a romance novel for their book discussion group. Please call the library for the exact title.

Hilton Readers Book Club
Monday, September 24 at 7 p.m.
This month members will be discussing “Lilac Girls” by Martha Hall Kelly. New members always welcome. Please contact the library to receive a copy of the book.

Jersey Job Club presents: Acing the Interview ll
Saturday, September 29 from 2 – 3:30 p.m.
Join our Career Coach, Deb Warner, to make the most out of your resume and jump start your job search.

Tai Chi Free Exercise Program: Tuesdays in September

AARP Safe Driving Class
Saturday, September 22 from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Refresh your driving skills and knowledge of the rules of the road. Cost of class is $15 for AARP members, $20 for non-members. Advanced registration is required.

Mobile Aging Kiosk
Tuesday, September 25 from 11:30 – 1:30 p.m.
Union County’s mobile Aging Service Kiosk (ASK) is designed to provide residents with a convenient, friendly way to find out about services for the aging, and for their families and caregivers. ASK is staffed by professionals with the Division on Aging and Disability Resource Connection of the Union County Department of Human Services.

International Film
Thursday, September 27 from 2 – 4 p.m.

Les Malamut Art Gallery
Join us for an exhibition of pottery by Union-based artist Jessica Gerber.
Gallery reception will take place Thursday, September 6 from 7-8:30.
Exhibition will continue through October.
