SAGE Eldercare’s Meals on Wheels Program Receives Grant from The Summit Foundation

Summit Foundation Grant to Benefit Meals on Wheels

SAGE Eldercare recently received a generous grant from The Summit Foundation. The grant will benefit SAGE’s Meals on Wheels program. “We are so appreciative of the support we have received from the Summit Foundation during this very difficult time. The foundation’s generosity is helping the most vulnerable older adults in this community who depend on our services,” said SAGE’s Meals on Wheels Director, Marianne Kranz. Since the start of COVID-19, the nonprofit has had a substantial influx in meal delivery requests from those in Summit and the surrounding area.

“Hundreds of older adults in our community rely on the daily meals and friendly visits from Meals on Wheels volunteers. And in the midst of the pandemic, SAGE has responded by expanding Meals on Wheels service to those newly in need. The Summit Foundation is proud to support SAGE programming that enables area seniors to continue living independently,” said Julie Keenan, President of The Summit Foundation.

The Summit Foundation fosters philanthropy by identifying local needs and offering donors flexible ways to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors. For almost 50 years, The Summit Foundation (formerly Summit Area Public Foundation) has connected donors to nonprofit organizations that form the backbone of the community. The Summit Foundation facilitates collaboration, awareness, and solutions to positively impact people’s lives. In the past ten years, it has awarded nearly $5.7 million through more than 400 competitive grants to nonprofit organizations in NJ.
