Rahway’s Own, Nikola Tesla, Honored at Special Dedication Ceremony

Rahway’s 4th Annual Culture Crawl took place on Friday, June 17th in the Downtown Arts District. This year, the Rahway Arts & Business Partnership, host of Culture Crawl, partnered with the Tesla Science Foundation to honor Nikola Tesla.
A ceremony was held at the Rahway Train Station Plaza dedicating a bust of Nikola Tesla generously gifted to Rahway by the Republic of Srpska and the Nation of Serbia. Mayor Samson D. Steinman of Rahway; Upendra Chivukula, Commissioner on the NJ Board of Public Utilities; Obrad Kesic the Director of the RS Office of Cooperation, Trade and Investment; Nikola Lonchar President of the Tesla Science Foundation; Samuel Mason, Director of the Tesla Science Foundation; and Marina Zivkovic, the Consulate General of Serbia were among the speakers present. Special performances by Mano Divina, “Nikola Tesla Drops the Beat” and Bisire, a Serbian folklore dance group, added to the celebration.
