CAP Scholarships awarded
The Bayway Community Advisory Panel (CAP), an organization of local community members and industry representatives including Phillips 66 Bayway Refinery, Infineum USA L.P., Linden Cogeneration Plant, Veolia North America, and Linden VFT LLC, recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to 13 local students in the municipalities of Linden, Rahway, Elizabeth, and Staten Island.
All of the high school seniors will be pursuing Process Technology or Engineering degrees in various disciplines (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical) this fall at college. The winners from Rahway are Pearl Davis, Destiny Ledgister, and Camilla Monterrosa.
Pearl Davis is a Senior at Rahway High School, in Rahway, NJ. She is one of the most hardworking students and continually strives for excellence both in and out of the classroom. Pearl is a very dedicated student and is always focused and enthusiastic about the task at hand. She is one of those students that always puts in her best effort and is always pushing herself to be the best.
Not only is pearl a top-notch student, but she is also involved in extra curricular activities, including being an executive council member of the Student Government Association at the High School. Pearl can do anything that she puts her mind to, she is one of the most conscientious students. Pearl will be pursuing a degree in Biochemical Engineering.
Destiny Ledgister is a senor Rahway High School in Rahway, NJ. Destiny is a passionate student throughout her Academic journey at Rahway High School. She is dedicated and hard-working. Destiny has always been eager to learn, open to constructive feedback and is helpful to her peers. She has participated in Track and Field during her High School career.
Destiney will be pursuing a degree in Business and Information Systems. Congratulations to Destiny on receiving the 2023 Bayway CAP Scholarship, sponsored by Parkway Generation.
Camilla Monterrosa is a senior at Rahway High School in Rahway, NJ. She is a very mature, dependable and a responsible student. She shows interest in learning, interacting with her peers and able to handle a difficult workload. She works extremely hard at achieving her goals and always holds herself to high standards.
She excelled at her studies with a significant workload, which included holding class president position, Co-Editor of the Yearbook and membership of the National Honor Society.
