What’s It Worth? Antiques Road Show (Adults)
Tuesday, April 6 @ 7:00 PM
Author, auctioneer, appraiser and radio show host Mike Ivankovich will introduce you to “What Determines Value” and reveal what your antiques, collectibles, and treasures are really worth today. Each attendee is invited to show 1-2 items over zoom for Mike to appraise, depending on how many people register. To register, email rsvp@newprovidencelibrary.org.

Teen Take & Make Crafts (Teens)
Wednesday, April 7 @ 3:00 PM
Come to the library foyer to pick up a craft kit to make a project at home. This month, make pretty mineral mosaic designs. For teens in grades 6-12. First-come, first-served, while supplies last.

Book Group (Adults)

Origami 4 Teens by Teens – Masu Boxes (Teens)
Friday, April 9
Learn to make advanced modular origami projects in a fun, convenient format! These YouTube tutorials are for teens, taught by local teens. Email NPMLTeens@gmail.com to register for a pack of origami papers needed for this project. Then watch the How To videos on YouTube whenever it works for your schedule!

If you signed up and received confirmation for the April box, check your email to see when yours is ready to be picked up in our library foyer. Keep the goodies, just return the library book when you finish!

Virtual Club Phoenix (Kids)
Monday, April 12 @ 3:30 PM
Club Phoenix is online! In this program kids will learn about science, engineering, and logical thinking. Watch a variety of cool science experiments and learn how you can do them at home! This program is run by teen volunteers, who are passionate about sharing their love of science and STEM with younger children. Baseball Discussion Group (All Ages)
Monday, April 12 @ 7 PM – 9 PM
Discuss teams, players and issues of the sport over Zoom with other baseball fans. Children with a parent/guardian are welcome to join this group of mostly seniors. To join the baseball group, email the library at rsvp@newprovidencelibrary.org.

Virtual Read to a Dog (Kids)
Tuesday, April 13 @ 7 PM
Join us on Zoom and practice reading aloud to trained Seeing Eye dogs and puppies. Email npmlchildrens@gmail.com to receive the link. For children in grades 2 and up.

Reading Pillows & Adventure/Survival Reads Book Lists (Teens)

Come to the library foyer to grab a craft kit to make your own reading pillow. If nice weather, we’ll put them together outside. Decorate to reflect your adventurous side and dreams of the great outdoors. We’ll also share great YA Adventure & Survival book titles for literary adventures. Have some favorite titles? Highly Selective Colleges Webinar (Teens)

How do students who get accepted to the nation’s most selective colleges set themselves apart? This CollegeWise webinar will discuss how students who get accepted to the Ivy Leagues, Stanford, Tufts and the rest of the nation’s most selective colleges set themselves apart from the rest of the applicant pool, and will share some strategies to improve a student’s chances of admission at the most selective schools. Invention, Innovation and Industry in Union County
Tuesday, April 20 @ 7 PM
Did you know that Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla had connections to Union County? Or that all manner of transportation – planes, trains, automobiles and even submarines – are all a part of the history of Union County? Learn more in this virtual presentation by John Prescott, the History Programs Coordinator for the Union County Freeholders Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs. Boogie Woogie Babies (Kids)

Boogie Woogie Babies is a dance class for baby and their big person! Classes consist of singing and dancing while working on fine motor skills. Both adults and little people get to socialize, have fun, and most importantly, bond! Plus adults get to burn a few calories! For children ages 6 months-3 years. Classes will take place on the front lawn weather permitting. Boogie Woogie Babies will meet weekly on Thursdays until 5/13. Email npmlchildrens@gmail.com to register. This program series is provided by donations in memory of Quinn William Mavis.

Each month, we put together a box for you including fun treats like snacks, crafts, bookmarks, buttons, stickers and more. Pearl Observatory Presents: Little Al Dinosaur (Kids)

Be a paleontologist for the day! Touch a real dinosaur egg, teeth and bones. Help rebuild Little Al, the Allosaurus dinosaur. Registration is required. This program will take place out on the lawn. Social distancing and masks required. For children in grades 1-3.
