May Is Bike Month at Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County Plainfield Club

Plainfield, NJ – May is Bike Month and we are celebrating “Big” at Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County! Our Plainfield Club has an entire day of events scheduled for Friday May 8th. There will be a Bike Yard Sale from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM hosted by our volunteer bike mechanics. The Bike Yard Sale will feature our current stock of bikes at discount prices. Also at 3:00 there will be Bike Rodeo followed by a Trike-a-Thon to support St. Jude’s Hospital. The Bike Rodeo teaches youth bike riding safety, including how to properly fit a bike helmet. There will be bike drills and an obstacle course to showcase skills. The Trike-a-Thon gives our members an opportunity to ‘give back’ by raising funds for St. Jude’s Hospital.

“We all look forward to Bike Month. It is a great time for everyone to be outside and enjoy biking after a long winter,” said Russell Triolo, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County. “Our members always have a great time and enjoy learning new bike skills.”

The Plainfield Club Bike Exchange features both youth and adult bikes, new and gently used, at greatly reduced prices. We have a team of ace volunteer bike mechanics who lovingly restore and repair bikes. If you are interested in becoming a mechanic, have bikes to donate or would like more information on our Bike Exchange please contact our Plainfield Club directly at 908-822-8672 x 101.
