Hourly Staff Shown Appreciation

Residents of Lantern Hill, an Erickson Senior Living community located in New Providence, recently made the holiday season a bit merrier for the community’s staff by generously contributing more than $184,775 to the 2021 Staff Appreciation Fund.

The annual Staff Appreciation Campaign is an opportunity for Lantern Hill residents to thank the hourly employees who consistently go above and beyond to provide a variety of services that enhance the daily lives of residents.

Throughout the year, Lantern Hill residents make gifts to the Staff Appreciation Fund. Each holiday season, the funds are then distributed among Lantern Hill’s eligible employees, which include dining associates, security officers, maintenance workers, housekeepers, as well as medical and nursing assistants — just to name a handful.

The committee, led by Anne Johnston, who also served as chair of the 2021 Staff Appreciation Fund campaign, worked collaboratively with Lantern Hill’s Human Resources and Resident Life departments to make this year’s celebration an extra special one for staff members.

At a festive celebration on December 6, 2021, employees received “Thank You” cookies and cheers from residents, as well as had the opportunity to contribute personalized messages of gratitude to the “Link of Thanks” paper chain. The chain is currently on display on campus.

A total of 202 employees were celebrated and received a distribution from the Staff Appreciation Fund in 2021.

“I want to thank our residents for their generosity and for recognizing Lantern Hill’s dedicated employees,” said Executive Director Craig Karczmer. “The Staff Appreciation Fund is a wonderful opportunity for residents to give a gift to the employees who mean so much to them. Our employees do so much to make residents’ lives more enjoyable and ensure their health and safety.”
