Giving Back to Local Charity During the Holidays
Submitted by Victoria Baum
Students at Thomas P. Hughes Elementary School wouldn’t allow the pandemic (or a snowstorm) stand in the way of their goal of bringing joy to children in need. For 15 years, students at Hughes have felt joy from their acts of generosity and kindness through participation in the school’s annual Cherished Creations Holiday Wish Collection. Each year the school community collects hundreds of items to donate to this amazing local charity and this year was no exception.
According to Mrs. Jessica Nardi, Principal of Hughes, “Each and every donation is greatly appreciated and we thank all of our families and staff for their support! An additional very special thank you goes out to our fully remote families, and alumni families, who made sure to stop by school to participate in this worthy cause.”
