The Green Brook Lions Club welcomed new member Walter Duralek this last year. Walter Duralek joined the Green Brook Lions Club in 2020. Walter is a Manager at NJ Transit, where he has worked for more than 28 years. Currently, Walter works in the Power Supervisor’s Office. He is also a licensed electrician. After living in the area for more than 17 years, Walter and his wife Shari moved to Green Brook in 2018, along with their daughter and son.

Walter and his family enjoy traveling and their involvement with youth sports, much like during Walter’s youth in Roselle. Walter values his involvement with the Green Brook Lions Club as his “way to become more involved and give back to the community.”

The Green Brook Lions Club celebrated 71 years of helping others in May, having been founded in 1950. The Club provides annual support to local and global sight related initiatives, such as eye exams and glasses for needy families, eye transplants, housing programs for the blind and veterans, music programs and summer camps for blind children and more. The Club additionally supports local youth sports and scouting programs, food banks, residents in need, as well as providing scholarships for middle and high school students.

Club members are residents and business owners from Green Brook and the surrounding area. For information about how to join the more-than thirty members of the Green Brook Lions, contact Club President Jerry Accomando at 908-403-0722.
