Get Informed for Upcoming Elections

The League of Women Voters of Berkeley Heights, New Providence & Summit will be participating in the national LWV’s initiative called Vote411.org. Vote411.org was launched by the League of Women Voters Education Fund in October of 2006. It is a “one-stop-shop” for election related information. It provides non-partisan information to the public with both general and state specific information on many aspects of the election process. An important component of Vote411.org is the information on candidates running for office in State, County and Local races. All candidates in Berkeley Heights, New Providence and Summit as well as Union County have been asked to participate. Candidates for Governor and State Assembly were also solicited for responses.
In addition to their Vote411.org initiative, the League will be sponsoring forums where residents can ask questions of local candidates.
The forum for candidates running for Berkeley Heights Township Council will be held on on Thursday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. in the Governor Livingston High School Auditorium, located at 175 Watchung Blvd. in Berkeley Heights. Candidates will be answering two questions from the League and then it will be opened to question from the audience.
A forum for Candidates running for Summit Common Council will be held on Thursday, October 12th at 7:30 p.m. in the Summit High School Media Center.
