Students Donate to Children’s Hospital

Students at Franklin Elementary School in Rahway made homemade fleece blankets, coloring books, and crayons. They also put together ‘Mugs of Love,’ which were mugs filled with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soup, etc. The items were donated to the children at RWJ Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick in hopes of putting a smile on the children’s faces during this difficult time. Additionally, the students also gave books to be used for a book cart.

These students are members of the Blue and Gold Club, which is a school-based club. They volunteer their time throughout the year to help with different community service activities. They continually do a great job and work diligently to make a difference in their community. The club is overseen by the school’s nurse, Mrs. Barbara Maher, and also Ms. Kym Adams.
