Fashion Show for Seniors

Submitted by Sylvia Martinez

Volunteers with The Westfield Service League, along with a couple of members’ spouses, recently put on a Fashion Show for residents of Cranford Senior Housing. WSL members modeled fashions from the Thrift Shop it operates at 114 Elmer Street in Westfield. After the show, residents were able to buy some of the clothing and accessories modeled, along with other items brought to the senior housing facility. Residents were thrilled with the fashions and affordability of the many items. A non-profit organization, WSL also operates a Consignment Shop at the same location. Proceeds from the shops are distributed via grants to other non-profits in Westfield and Union County. WSL is in its 86th year and has awarded more than $2.8 million in grants over the decades.
