EDUCATION FOUNDATION SPRING RECEPTION MAY 18TH

The Township of Union Education Foundation proudly announces seven grants that will be awarded to teachers in the Union school district for the 2017-2018 year. The teachers will be honored at the annual spring reception to be held on May 18 from 5-8 at the Knights of Columbus, 1034 Jeannette Avenue in Union. Ticket donation for the reception is $30.00 and checks may be made payable to “Township of Union Education Foundation” and mailed to Susan Lipstein, 2569 Jackson Avenue, Union, NJ, 07083
The Foundation awarded three micro grants and four macro grants to teachers in Washington School, Hannah Caldwell, Connecticut Farms, Battle Hill and Livingston Schools. The micro grants include the purchase of 3-C portable line scanner pens, the purchase of a 3-D printer and a subscription to Flocabulary-an online reading and vocabulary program. The macro grants include purchasing  a greenhouse and ancillary equipment, supplying Fire Kids Edition Tablets for a school-wide project ,sponsoring a trip to a Monarch butterfly farm for three classes and purchasing Chromebooks and Engineering texts for fourth graders.
The Township of Union Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to raise funds for grants awarded competitively to teachers for creative and innovative educational programs for the children in the public schools of the Township of Union.
