Educating Those with an Ongoing Health Condition – April 11

Educating Those with an Ongoing Health Condition

Are you an adult age 55 or older with an ongoing or long-term health condition or their caregivers? Put life back in your life and Take Control of Your Health. Sponsored by the Westfield Regional and Bloomfield Health Departments, you’ll get the support you need, find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, understand new treatment choices, and learn better ways to talk with your doctor and family about your health.

If you have conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain, or anxiety, join us for this free, 2 ½ hour program at Library of the Chathams, 214 Main Street in Chatham beginning on Tuesday, April 11 at 1:30 pm.

This educational program offers six lessons that cover a wide range of topics. Participants will have an opportunity to meet new people and learn:

How to manage your symptoms. How to get started with healthy eating and exercise. How to communicate effectively with your doctor. How to manage fear, anger, and frustration. How to make daily tasks easier. Free refreshments will be served at each lesson.
