David Lugara Awarded Prestigious Scholarship By EMS Council

David A. Lugara, son of David N. and Rebecca Lugara, recently received the Cadet Scholarship for Outstanding Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Performance, which was given to him by the Emergency Medical Services Council of New Jersey (EMSCNJ). The 17th District of the Emergency Medical Services Council presented the scholarship, and out of 51 applicants, David and 10 other Cadets in the region received the award.
David is a 2017 Graduate of Cranford High School, and a lifelong Cranford resident. He volunteers twice a week for the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad, having been an EMT on that squad for 2 years and a member for 3 years.The Scotch Plains Rescue Squad just celebrated its 80th Anniversary, and works closely with the neighboring Fanwood Rescue Squad. David plans to attend Union County College (UCC) in September, with a major in Fire Science Technology and a minor in Criminal Justice. His plans also include eventually joining the Army.
