Cranford Jaycees Donate to UCESC
Submitted by Andrew Feldman
The Cranford Jaycees recently presented checks totaling $9,200 to the Union County Educational Services Commission (UCESC) and to the Cranford Public Schools Special Services Department (via the CFEE).
The proceeds were raised from the Jaycees’ annual summer golf outing, where more than 125 golfers and several generous sponsors came together for these important causes supporting students with special needs.
The UCESC operates a Work Readiness Academy providing educational and vocational skills training programs for Union County youth (ages 16-21) with various disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual impairments.
The Cranford Public Schools Public Special Services Department plans to utilize the funds for updated curriculum and resources to support additional social skills instruction for students across the district.
The Jaycees would like to thank all of our great sponsors, including the outing’s Masters level sponsor Brighton Air Corp, a residential and commercial heating and cooling company dedicated to providing cost-effective energy solutions. Please save the date for next year’s golf outing to be held on Friday, June 26, 2020.
