Carl H. Kumpf Middle School Students raise over $1000 for Valerie Fund
National Junior Honor Society students at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark recently collected gift cards to donate to the Valerie Fund in Morristown, NJ as part of their service projects. At the end of each chemotherapy or radiation treatment, children are allowed to pick a gift card from a big treasure chest as a reward. The NJHS students collected over $1,000 in gift cards to donate. Gift cards were collected at all of the district’s schools.
NJHS Advisor Suzanne Hamilton stated, “I’m so incredibly proud of this group for finding a way to donate to a noble cause. They spent countless hours setting up meetings, reaching out to representatives from The Valerie Fund, and visiting each of the schools in the district to collect the gift cards. Each of the gift cards they’ve collected will be enjoyed by a child who needs a little extra special something after a tough treatment, and I’m so happy that they chose this organization to work with.”
