Celebrating Fifty Years Of Service

Reverend Dr. James W. Ealey and Second Baptist Church of Rahway are “Celebrating Fifty Years of Service” as Pastor, Leader, confidant, colleague and friend. Reverend Ealey has served as the Pastor of the Second Baptist Church of Rahway New Jersey for Fifty Years, and this milestone will be celebrated formally at the Pines Manor, Edison NJ on Friday evening May 19th, 2017 at 6:00pm.
Pastor Ealey has preached more than 7,000 sermons, extending the availability to all those who will hear; the opportunity to be saved. Reverend Dr. James W. Ealey holds degrees in Philosophy, Education, Theology and Doctor of Divinity, from Virginia Union University, and Princeton Theological Seminary. He has officiated over numerous funerals, comforted bereaved families, presided over baby dedications, baptized countless numbers of children and adults, and performed scores of weddings, visited hospitals and nursing homes praying for our sick and shut-in members and their families.
During Pastor Ealey’s administration, the following organizations and programs have been formed or renewed: The Nurses Unit/Volunteer Ministry, the former Young Adult Choir, now the Emergency Choir, Male Chorus, Men’s Fellowship, Young People’s Choir, now the Youth Choir, New Life Spiritual Voices Choir, Handbell Choir, Buds of Promise Choir, United by God Step Team, Dancers of Praise, and a Scholarship Committee.
Pastor Ealey has been the driving force behind the ordaining of more than 30 Deacons, licensing 12 Minister, and has allowed his spiritual presence to be felt throughout the state of New Jersey through his under shepherds.
While serving the Lord, pastor Ealey was a devoted husband to his wife, our 1st Lady, the late Hilda Jean Hicks-Ealey for 55 years, father of 4 children, 2 daughter-in-law, 7grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Previous to his acceptance of the request extended by the Second Baptist Church Rahway, Rev. Ealey was the Pastor of the Rising Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Richmond, Virginia and Pastor of the St. James Baptist Church, Varina, Virginia We pray for God’s continued blessing on his efforts as he continues to serve us as our beloved and esteemed pastor.
