ALJ Student Recognized as Eisenhower Award Recipient

On May 30, 2018, West Point Society member Joel Boroff presented Arthur L. Johnson junior Erin Heaning with a Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award.
Each year, The West Point Society of New Jersey selects a high school junior who exhibits exceptional performance and potential in the areas of academics, athletics, community service, good citizenship and leadership.
In addition to taking a variety of challenging academic courses, Heaning is involved in many other activities including Student Council, Key Club, and ALJ’s Volleyball team. She also started the Hunger Awareness Club that addresses the issue of hunger in the local community.
According to The West Point Society of New Jersey, its goal includes “celebrating West Point’s Heritage, keeping communities abreast of West Point issues, supporting the needs and objectives of West Point, providing graduate networking opportunities, assisting in the admission and recruiting process, and assisting the Parents’ Clubs, Cadets, & USMAPS Cadet Candidates.”
