38th Annual National Night Out – Aug. 5
The Rahway Police Department invites you to join us as we join forces with the residents of Rahway and thousands of communities nationwide for the “38th Annual National Night Out” (NNO), crime and drug prevention event.
National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for local anti-crime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. NNO has proven to be an effective and enjoyable program that promotes police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation.
The event, which will take place on Thursday, August 5, and will be set up near Elizabeth Avenue and Irving Street (set up at 5:30 p.m. – event 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.). Our event will not occur on the traditional first Tuesday of the month, since we are running it in conjunction with the Rahway Mayor’s Concert Series.
The Rahway Police Department has used this event in the past as a platform to foster police and community relations. Please contact Detective Michael Gesumaria at the Community Relations Office at 732-827-2049 or mgesumaria@rahwaypolice.com to R.S.V.P.
