OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS FOR “THE BAKER’S DOZEN” EXHIBIT AT ARTS GUILD NJ
(Rahway, NJ) Arts Guild New Jersey announces an OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS for our upcoming juried exhibit: “The Baker’s Dozen”, which will be from February 14 – March 10, 2016. For the past two years this competition was offered as the Artist of the Month competition, a juried competition open to fine artists everywhere in all Medias. For the The Bakers Dozen Exhibit, thirteen artists will be chosen as winners for the competition. All thirteen artists chosen for the 2016 competition will be featured in an exhibit which will be held at the Arts Guild New Jersey gallery, located at 1670 Irving Street in Rahway, NJ, scheduled to open on Sunday, February 14th, 2016. Twelve of the artists chosen will also be featured on the Arts Guild New Jersey website as an Artist of the Month for one month each beginning in January 2016. The selected artists’ monthly web page will feature a dozen images of their artwork, a statement and current exhibit resume. Each artist selected will also receive a free 1 year listing on the “Artist Registry (at ConnectionsForArt.com). Additionally, an announcement for each Baker’s Dozen listing will be sent to our e-mail lists and promoted on all of our social media sites.
The deadline for submitting artwork is Friday, September 25, 2015. Submitting artists will be notified by November 22, 2015 on the status of their application.
Interested artists can visit www.agnj.org to review the Prospectus, complete an online entry form and upload up to six images of recent work. Images uploaded for the judging process must be formatted and labeled as indicated in the Prospectus. There is a $20.00 entry processing fee which can be paid by credit card at the time of entering.
The first competition was in 2012. Chosen artists were featured on our website. To view the current listings visit: www.agnj.org and click the “Artist of the Month” banner on the main page. The artists chosen this year in the contest will be featured beginning in January 2016.
The exhibition is open to all artists working in any media. Artists must be a minimum age of 18 to enter. Work must have been completed in the past 5 years, and may not have been exhibited previously at Arts Guild New Jersey. Judging will be conducted by Arts Guild New Jersey’s Executive Director, Lawrence Cappiello as well as additional artist jurors, to be announced. All media will be considered for this exhibit, with the exception of crafts, such as jewelry, pottery and glass.
The Baker’s Dozen winners will be announced on November, 22nd, 2015 and the program will commence on the Arts Guild’s website in January, 2016. The order in which the twelve winning artists are presented does not reflect a particular rank. Winners are assigned to a month at the discretion of the judges.
