Residents of Berkeley Heights and surrounding communities are invited to attend our meeting on January 15, 2019 at the Berkeley Heights YMCA, 550 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. We meet at 12:15 p.m. for light refreshments, a business meeting, and a speaker. Carol Simon Levin will present her program “Nobody Owns the Sky: Fascinating Stories of Forgotten Female Aviators”. One of the organizations we help is St. Joseph’s Social Service Center in Elizabeth NJ which provides food and services for the working poor and the homeless. In October club members donated over 500 treat bags filled with candy for their Halloween Party for the children. In December our members donated 50 toys for the annual toy sale at St. Joseph’s.
In February we will be writing thank you cards to the Veteran’s at Lyons Hospital in Basking Ridge for their service to our country. We are collecting white athletic socks for men and women to give to the Veteran’s.
