White out Against Bullying Day

It was a sea of white at Warren Middle School as staff and students dressed accordingly in support of “White Out Against Bullying Day” on May 13th.
Student leaders at Warren Middle School conducted activities to raise awareness about gender, cultural and racial stereotypes, while State Senator Thomas Kean, Jr. and members of the Watchung Hills Regional High School Diversity Council called on middle schoolers to be “upstanders, not bystanders” when witnessing bullying and discrimination.
Last year, the NJ Senate passed a resolution introduced by Senator Kean urging Meriam Webster, Inc. and the Oxford University Press to include the word “upstander” (an individual who chooses to take positive action in the face of injustice) in the dictionary.
