Westfield Students Dance to Raise Money for Charitable Causes
The Westfield High School Community Service Club recently raised $7,683 at its 3rd Annual Dance Marathon for Children’s Specialized Hospital.
“We could not be prouder of the club and the community and we thank them for their generosity,” says club advisors Zorana Culjak and Greg Bowers.
On May 22, 2019 at McKinley Elementary School, students and staff danced to raise money for the Karyn Research Fund, founded by a former McKinley teacher whose daughter died 23 years ago from leukemia. The Karyn Fund supports the research of leukemia and other pediatric cancers. Organized by teachers Christina Toulios, Alexandra Urso, and Stephanie Willis, the McKinley-Thon has raised more than $70,000 since its inception 8 years ago.
