Five WHS Students Perform with All-State Band

Five Westfield High School student musicians were accepted to the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA) All-State Band. Senior Max Tennant (trumpet), juniors Alexander Cha (clarinet) and Aprina Wang (French horn), and sophomores Conor Daly (trombone) and Patrick Gallagher (tuba) traveled to Atlantic City to rehearse with the all-state band, before performing on February 22 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark.

“We are extremely proud of these five students for being awarded a spot in a 2020 All-State Band,” said band director Christopher Vitale. “The preparation and audition process for region and all-state band lasts about nine months. These students have displayed the time management skills, dedication, and attention to detail that is required to be named among the best musicians in the state of New Jersey. We are excited for them to represent our school and community at the All-State Band concert.”
