David Wroe, Music Director of the Westfield-based New Jersey Festival Orchestra, formerly the Westfield Symphony Orchestra, was the recent guest presenter at a luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of Westfield. In his talk, the maestro announced offerings planned for the upcoming orchestra season and furnished highlights of the inner workings of a symphony orchestra and the role of the conductor. The New Jersey Festival Orchestra is the recipient of a Rotary Community Grant for its outreach program.
For interested individuals there’s a warm welcome waiting any Tuesday at noon at the Westfield YMCA, 220 Clark Street, Westfield, including lunch, fellowship and an interesting presentation. To make arrangements or to have your Rotary-related questions answered, contact Nancy Jackson, Secretary, 973 564-9730.
