WESTFIELD MEMORIAL DAY PARADE MONDAY, MAY 29, 2017

Plans for the Annual Westfield Memorial Day Parade are underway. The parade, scheduled for Monday, May 29, 2017, will have opening ceremonies at the Veterans Memorial Monument beginning at 9:00 a.m. Participants in this parade are required to assemble in the Lord & Taylor (West) parking lot at 8:00 a.m.
All Westfield organizations are invited to march in this year’s Tribute to Veterans who made the supreme sacrifice fighting for the freedom we often take for granted.
The parade committee urges organizations or individuals to either march in the parade, sponsor a wreath to be placed at the Monument or to make a financial contribution to the parade committee to help offset the costs of running the parade.
The committee is also asking for information about any Westfield residents who have family currently serving in/or recently returned from the military. A tribute is being planned.
We also would like any information about Veterans who have passed away since last Memorial Day so we can honor them during opening ceremonies. This year’s parade route, after the opening ceremonies, will be straight up East Broad Street ending at Fairview Cemetery.
The Westfield Memorial Day Parade is sponsored by the Town of Westfield and The American Legion Martin Wallberg Post #3. If there are any questions, please call Stan Cuba at (908) 233-2767.
