The fall “back to school” season is a great time for everyone to learn and grow at the Westfield Area YMCA! Registration is now open. 

Classes are available for beginner and experienced swimmers of all ages. The YMCA group swim lesson program helps foster a sense of achievement as each swimmer progresses, resulting in more confident swimmers who stick with lessons and develop a love for swimming. Free swim level assessments are available. 

Fall Leagues and team offerings include T-Ball (ages 4-7 yrs.), Flyers Cross Country (ages 7-15), and Warrior Co-Ed Mini Travel Basketball League (grades 3-4). Youth sports classes include basketball, soccer, and sports samplers. 

Gedman’s Black Belt Academy of the Westfield Area Y is for youth and adults, beginners through 5th-degree black belts. The Y’s Dance program, under the direction of Mariana Tsartolia, includes 8-week Dance with Me and Little Movers for ages 2-5, and September-December ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop for ages 4-9. Programs for teens include Leaders Club, Model UN and Achievers. 

Adult water exercise and fitness classes are included with membership and range from yoga and Pilates to strength classes like TRX; cardio classes like Spin and Kickboxing; combination cardio and strength classes; and a variety of Lite/Low Impact classes to meet the needs of people of all fitness levels, as well as programs for special health populations such as Parkinson’s, Osteoporosis and Arthritis. 

At the Westfield Area YMCA, people of every age, ability and life stage have the opportunity to improve their health, build relationships and grow in a supportive community.
