Warren Township Police Offer Tips on Motor Vehicle Theft

Stolen Vehicle and Motor Vehicle Burglary Tips

Submitted by Chief William Keane, Warren Township Police Department

Due to recent incidents of overnight and early morning motor vehicle theft and vehicle burglaries, the Warren Township Police Department would like to remind you of some helpful tips to hopefully prevent you from becoming a victim.

Ensure that you always LOCK YOUR VEHICLE whether it’s parked on your street, in your driveway, out shopping or at your local gym, or in your garage.

DO NOT leave any type of spare keys or anything of value, such as purses/wallets, electronics, sunglasses, credit cards, cash, and cell phones, in or near your vehicle.

Make sure your residence/business is well lit during the evening and overnight hours. Thieves typically look for darker areas to commit these crimes for less visibility by passing motorists, neighbors, and police.

Continue to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity, day or night, to the Warren Township Police Department via 9-1-1 or 908-753-1000.
