Cub Scout Pack 182
Submitted by Adam Lella
Pack 182 recently celebrated our “Arrow of Light” AOL’s crossing into Boy Scouts. We had eight Scouts complete the all the ranks of Cub scouting this year. This milestone takes time and patience and includes rank completions, earning badges, community service, outdoor team building events, camping activities, and assisting leadership during our Pack meetings. The ceremony included an opening reflection, highlights, recognition and a welcoming from Boy Scout Troop 228 as the scouts crossed the bridge. For anyone who has a son in grades K-4 please reach out if you would like your child to join or learn more about the Cub Scouts. Adam Lella – adamlella@gmail.com
Another recent highlight from Pack 182 was in our Bear Den (3rd graders). Scouts participated in a Claws Adventure and the Whittling Chip program. The scouts were introduced to pocketknife safety. After reviewing rules and safety, the boys practiced their whittling skills by carving a figure of their choice on a bar of soap. This is a major milestone for Cub Scouts to earn their Whittling Chip.
