Cranford Volunteer First Aid Squad Defies Trends and Is Growing Stronger

Cranford, NJ, April 7, 2015:  In January a new leadership team helmed by Kruti Brahmbhatt as President and Jason Cruz as Captain came into office at 6 Centennial Ave. Since then they have been working hard to build moral and raise the standards of the squad with resounding success! Since January 1st membership has risen with 14 new volunteers which is unprecedented in squad history! In addition, 4 volunteer members are in training to be Emergency Medical Technicians with 12 signing up for summer classes. This has translated to better service to the residents of Cranford. By June most shifts will be able to staff 2 ambulances rather than just 1.

“I’m truly honored to be entrusted with this responsibility of Captain, and I’m looking forward to transforming the Cranford First Aid Squad into one of the most professional EMS agencies in the county, an example to all other EMS personnel in the state, Said Jason Cruz,  EMS Captain

This is impressive when you consider most towns are facing reduced membership and some even completely lapsing.

“I am humbled to take over the helm of this historic organization. While we work to maintain the traditions of the First Aid Squad, I also wish to modernize and push the limits of professionalism. With new top tier leadership, we will bring new ideas that improve the quality of Emergency Medical Service in the township and surrounding areas,” Kruti Brahmbhatt, CFAS President.

The Cranford First Aid Squad provides completely free BLS service to everyone they treat and is completely staffed by volunteers and funded by donations. They also provide community services such as training for CPR and babysitting. If you wish to volunteer, donate money, or schedule a training please contact Capt. Jason Cruz atCFASCaptain@gmail.com.
