Valley Road School Second Graders Create Their Own Music
Second grade students in Mrs. Petela’s class from Valley Road School in Clark read stories in their Reading Wonders guided reading books about creating musical instruments out of recycled materials. Mrs. Petela then provided an optional opportunity for the children to create their own instruments. Students presented their instruments to the class and played their instruments along with a couple of current songs on the radio. Mrs. Petela stated, “The students had a great time applying what they had learned about and making music together!”
