PRIDE Positive Behavior Program

Valley Road School in Clark has a lot of PRIDE (Patience, Respect, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence). The PRIDE program, which started last year, recognizes students and whole classes for their commendable behavior.

Staff members recognize students and classes that go above and beyond what is expected during the school day. School Counselor Mrs. Sarah Badillo oversees the program. She states, “When a student is recognized they receive a slip that goes to their teacher and parent which recognizes their PRIDE. They are also entered into a drawing for special rewards. It warms your heart when you see the glow on their faces when they are presented with their PRIDE slip.”

Currently for the month of October, students can choose rewards including Slime with Mrs. Badillo, Coloring a Squishy with Mrs. Schaefer, or Chalking the Walk with Mrs. Badillo. Whole classrooms also have the ability to enter a different raffle where they too can be rewarded but as a whole.
