Be sure to visit the library to enjoy these free events for people of various ages. Please note: We will be closed on Sundays through Labor Day weekend.

It’s not too late to sign up for our annual summer reading program for all ages! Adults may register online at our website clarklibrary.org and babies through teens may register at clarklibrary.beanstack.org. You may also register in-person at the library. If you participated last year, you already have an account. Parents can keep track of their children’s reading on the website or the new, free Beanstack Tracker app without using paper logs. Call or stop in if you have any questions.

Libraries Rock! Teen Perler Beads Program
on Monday, August 6 at 2:00 p.m.

Join us as we melt perler beads to create fun and creative works of art! Open to all teens in Grades 6-12. Please register. Teens get a raffle ticket for the grand prize drawing for attending.

Kid’s Karaoke on Monday, August 6 at 3:15 p.m.

Kids can come enjoy an afternoon of Karaoke with classic favorites, Disney songs, and popular music. Children earn an extra raffle ticket for attending!

Touch the Music on Tuesday, August 7

Join Touch the Music this summer to explore the question: What is Music?

Touch the Music owner Claudia Lemmerz will discuss where music comes from, how it affects our lives and what people like about music. She will bring an eclectic collection of musical instruments for everybody to try out. Come and make some music! Registration is requested by not required.

Family Law Overview Seminar on Wednesday, August 8 at 1:00 p.m. or Thursday, August 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Join Robyn E. Ross, Esq. and Elizabeth A. Calandrillo, Esq. for a Family Law overview. Topics will include: Divorce, Custody/Parenting Time, Child Support, Mediation, Post Judgment Issues, Premarital Agreements, DCPP Concerns, and Domestic Violence.

Life-Size Candyland Game on Thursday, August 9

Children in the summer reading program who have completed 10 hours of reading are invited to play Life-Size Candyland. Once you have earned your invitation, sign up for a time slot with a librarian. Game sessions will be held between 3 and 7 p.m..

Union County Division on Aging Services
on Monday, August 13 from 10-Noon

Do you have questions about services for seniors or their caregivers? The Union County Division on Aging will be at the Clark Public Library to answer them. Drop by anytime between 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and get answers to your questions about: pharmaceutical assistance, home energy assistance, home care, home delivered or congregate meals, caregiver relief, medicaid, transportation, and other questions you may have.

Libraries Rock! Teen Wrap Up Party & Movie
on Thursday, August 16 at 1:00 p.m.

Join us as we wrap up the teen summer reading program with a screening of Ready Player One (Rated PG-13) and pizza! We’ll also be raffling off several prizes!

Watercolor Painting Class on Friday, August 17 at 2:00 p.m.

Join artist Joy Ann Lara as she teaches you how to create a beautiful seascape/beach watercolor painting. This class is for adults 18 and older. Please register.

Summer LEGO Club on Monday, August 20 at 3:00 p.m.

Join us for the LEGO® Club at the Clark Public Library! Create your own lego structures. Legos are provided by the library. Creations are displayed in the Children’s Area. For children in grades K – 5. No registration required.

Adult Book Club on Monday, August 20 at 7:00 p.m.

We will be discussing “The Leavers” by Lisa Ko. When undocumented Chinese immigrant Polly vanishes, after leaving home for her job at the nail salon, two white professors adopt her 11-year-old son and move him from the Bronx to small-town New York. Set in New York and China, The Leavers is the story of how one boy comes into his own when everything he’s loved has been taken away–and how a mother learns to live with the mistakes of her past. Copies of the book are available at the circulation desk.

Grown-Up Coloring Club Meets Weekly
on most Fridays at 1:00 p.m.

Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore! Join us for a relaxing afternoon of coloring for grown-ups. Relieve some stress while stimulating your creativity! No registration is required.

Teen Tech Help (please check calendar or call for available times)

When it comes to technology, teens really do know everything! Meet with one of our teen volunteers for one-on-one tech help with basic computer use, Microsoft Office products, email, tablets, or downloading ebooks. Sessions are by appointment only. Questions? Ask at the Reference Desk in person, by phone, or email.

Additionally, free movies are shown at the library on Monday and Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Newly released DVDs are featured each Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. No registration is required for movies.
