Be sure to visit the library to enjoy these free events for people of various ages. Please note the Clark Public Library will be closed on Sundays through Labor Day weekend.
July is time for our annual summer reading program for all ages! Adults may register online at our website www.clarklibrary.org and babies through teens may register at clarklibrary.beanstack.org. You may also register in-person at the library. If you participated last year, you already have an account. Parents can keep track of their children’s reading on the website or on the new, free Beanstack Tracker app without using paper logs. There is also an opportunity for children to earn raffle tickets by attending specific children’s events!
Drop-in Patriotic Craft for Children
Monday, July 2 from 12-4 p.m.
Just stop by the Children’s area of the library between noon and 4 p.m. to create a patriotic craft to celebrate Independence Day.
Tinker Tuesday every other Tuesday this month
at 3:00 p.m.
All materials provided just bring your imagination and sense of fun! This program is for children entering grades 1-6. Registration is required.

Join us for the LEGO® Club at the Clark Public Library! Create your own lego structures. Legos are provided by the library. Creations are displayed in the Children’s Area. For children in grades K – 5. No registration required.
Friday Family Flicks
on Fridays through August 3 at 2:00 p.m..
Following the Libraries Rock! theme, we will be showing family friendly musical movies every Friday afternoon through August 3rd. Light snacks are provided. Children earn an extra raffle ticket for attending!
Kid’s Karaoke
Monday, July 9 at 7 p.m.
Kids can come enjoy an evening of Karaoke with classic favorites, Disney songs, and popular music. Children earn an extra raffle ticket for attending!
Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Wednesday, July 11 at 4:00 p.m.
Bring your favorite stuffed pal to the library for a story time and craft. After that, it’s time for the kids to say goodbye and leave their stuffed friend behind for the overnight library party. Check Facebook during the evening to see what your stuffed pal is up to, then come back the next day to pick up your friend and craft.
Preschool Yoga Storytime
Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. July 12-August 2
Story time Yoga promotes literacy while getting children up and moving! Children ages 2-5 will use props like balls, scarves, pinwheels and pom-poms to build strength, flexibility, and self-confidence through play. The program mixes poses, games, storytelling, art and music to teach children to release the sillies and find the calm. Led by Lisa Ferraro, who has been teaching kids and family yoga for 8 years from outdoor yoga at Wave Hill in the Bronx to yoga studios and libraries in NJ. Come play yoga! Please register for each week separately.
Fossil Dig with Pearl Observatory
Thursday, July 12 at 7:00 p.m.
Get ready to dig in! Join John Miller of the Pearl Observatory and find you own fossils right in the library. The fossil silt is loaded with shark teeth, coral, sea urchin spines, bones and more. Whatever you find you get to keep. The fossils are up to 20 million years old. For ages 5 and up. Registration is required.
Union County Division on Aging Services
Monday, July 16 from 10-Noon
Do you have questions about services for seniors or their caregivers? The Union County Division on Aging will be at the Clark Public Library to answer them. Drop by anytime between 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and get answers to your questions about: pharmaceutical assistance, home energy assistance, home care, home delivered or congregate meals, caregiver relief, medicaid, transportation, and other questions you may have.
The Science of Sound
Monday, July 16 at 7:00 p.m.
THE SCIENCE of SOUND is a Multi-Media Interactive All Ages STEAM Extravaganza in which sound is transformed through a 5 string electric violin & modern technology. 3-D sound waves become visible! From Bach to today, music literally comes to life before your very eyes & ears! Audience members will help create music on the spot! All ages are welcome, but the program is best suited to elementary school aged students and up. Children earn an extra raffle ticket for attending!
Pajama Time Storytime

Come in your PJs for our evening family story time! Stories, songs, and fingerplays for children ages 2 – 5 years old. Great for working parents and busy families. Registration is requested.
Martial Arts Performance Demonstration with USA Karate & Fitness
Friday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m.
Join us for a special Martial Arts Performance Demonstration by the USA Karate & Fitness Elite team!,After the demonstration, children will get to try their hand at using foam nunchucks! Another awesome treat – there will be time for photo opportunity with a Ninja Turtle! This program is for children ages 3 and up. Registration is required. Feel free to dress in a ninja or martial arts outfit!
Bubble Show with Currier’s Magical Mania
Thursday, July 26 at 6:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.
Enjoy a colorful rainbow of bubbles in all shapes and sizes. There will be music, bubbleology, games and comedy. There are two identical sessions. Registration is required.
Music with J.P. Arthur
Monday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m.
An interactive concert where kids can join in to play their “air” guitars and to sing along with the music. After the concert, kids can try out his guitar! Children earn an extra raffle ticket for attending this program!
Finger Painting Friday on Friday, August 3 at 10:00 a.m.
No childhood is complete without some good, old-fashioned, messy finger painting. We will read a story and then make some squishy, colorful creations. Wear some old clothes!

Grown-Up Coloring Club Meets Weekly
on most Fridays at 1:00 p.m.
Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore! Join us for a relaxing afternoon of coloring for grown-ups. Relieve some stress while stimulating your creativity! No registration is required.
Additionally, free movies are shown at the library on Mondays and Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. Newly released DVDs are featured each Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. No registration is required for movies.
