Union’s Day-long July 4th Spectacular Returns

Mayor Michele Delisfort and the Township Committee are proud to invite residents to the 2019 Fourth of July Festivities taking place along Stuyvesant Ave and in Biertuempfel Park on Wednesday, July 4th, 2019.

The Fourth of July schedule of events is as follows:

  • 10:00 a.m. festivities will begin on Stuyvesant Ave, between Mountainview and Tyler Ave., with the12th Annual All-American Soap Box Derby.
  • 7:30 p.m. for your listening pleasure, enjoy a concert by Smooth Band and Orchestra at Biertuempfel Park
  • 9:00 p.m. the Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular at Biertuempfel Park

All events are family-friendly and free to the public.

“Every year I look forward to our 4th of July festivities,” said Union Recreation Commissioner Suzette Cavadas. “This is a hometown experience and truly patriotic to celebrate this great county with your neighbors, family, and friends.”

Boys and girls who wish to participate in the 12th Annual Township of Union All-American Soapbox Derby must be between the ages of 8-12 years old, be no more than 100 lbs, must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and must bring their own helmet. Registration is currently open; deadline is on Wednesday, June 19th.  Space is limited to the first 24 qualified contestants. To register, please contact Union’s Recreation Department at 908-686-4200 and stop in for a registration form.
