Union’s 2nd Winter Wonderland Weekend Nov. 30 – Dec. 1  featuring Ice Skating

 Union Township – The Township of Union will hold its 2nd Annual Winter Weekend, Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st featuring the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration and ice skating in front of Town Hall.

“We’re excited to transform Town Hall into a winter wonderland and bring back one of Union’s most cherished events- the Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration,” said Suzette Cavadas, Mayor. “The smiles, the laughter and the display of togetherness are what make the holidays in Union truly special.”

The free ice skating will take place on Friday, November 30th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 1st from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The 35th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration will then take place on Saturday, December 1st beginning at 3:00 p.m. with an ice carving demonstration and the tree lighting ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m.

Featuring holiday performances from local schools, the annual event draws hundreds of residents in celebration of the Holiday season.

The evening will also feature arts and crafts, holiday games, food vendors and more. The festivities will culminate with a visit from Santa, and the lighting of the Holiday tree. The event is free of charge to attend.

Photos with Santa will be available inside Town Hall immediately after the Tree Lighting.

Union Center SID will also be sponsoring holiday crafts, horse and buggy rides and other activities throughout Union Center, including a performance of It’s a Wonderful Life the Radio Play beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Unity Bank.
