Joy Ann Cabano’s work has been shown in Manila, the UK, NJ, and Philadelphia. She published her first book of poetry in 2010 and is a community artist offering watercolor painting and origami workshops.

Celebrating Unity through Community Arts is a full-day literary workshop of performance poetry and literature. It includes readings, writing prompts, and more. This event is made possible by funds from the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. On Christmas night, 1776, Washington crossed the Delaware to attack a Hessian brigade at Trenton, taking the German auxiliaries by complete surprise. Only three days later, he struck again, slipping away from the British at Trenton and attacking the Redcoats at Princeton. Author Jim Stempel reports on one of the most violent, courageous, yet virtually forgotten periods of the Revolutionary War. Co-presented by the Union Township Historical Society.
