An Evening of Poetry and Open Mic Readings (Zoom and in-person at Kean University) 

Friday, 10/1 at 6:30 p.m.

Black Women’s Activism, A Historical Perspectives (Zoom)

Dr. Betty Livingston Adams explores African American women’s agency in the political arena and invites us to reflect on the expansion of American democracy and voting rights and grassroots resistance to white supremacy. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Philosophy from Yale and a Master of Divinity from Drew and the author of Black Women’s Christian Activism: Seeking Social Justice in a Northern Suburb. NJ Cemeteries with Rich Veit (Zoom)

Just in time for Halloween, enjoy a tour of New Jersey’s cemeteries from High Point to Cape May, from the colonial period to the present.
