The 60s: The Supremes (Vauxhall Branch)

The Supremes were the most commercially successful of Motown’s acts and the most successful American vocal group. They landed 12 number-one singles on the Billboard charts, and their breakthrough made it possible for future African-American R&B and soul artists to find mainstream success. Music historian Vinnie Bruno presents another informative and interactive music presentation.

Women’s History Event: The Schuyler Sisters (Main Library)

Four daughters of wealthy General Philip Schuyler eloped with rich men, but Elizabeth married Alexander Hamilton, a penniless orphan immigrant, for love. We will also meet two other women—Angelica Schuyler Church and Maria Reynolds—who were after him. This program features music from the Hamilton Broadway musical. Presented by Rick Feingold.
