Retired Policemen and Firemen’s Association Donates to JROTC Drill Team

Union HS JROTC Drill Team

The Retired Policemen and Firemen’s Association, Local 3 of Union/Somerset Counties donated $400 to the Union HS JROTC Drill Team program at their March 9th meeting. This is such a great program that the Union High School has to offer our younger generation. This program instills respect, responsibility and pride in America today, stated Local 3 President, retired Police Chief Kenneth Grady. Many of the High School Cadets go right into the military after graduation. They work very hard at this and we are very proud to help sponsor them to go to the National Title competition in Daytona Beach, Florida on May 5th, 2023.

The cadets of Union High School won the Army JROTC National Drill Championship in 2008 and 2014.

This year’s team will be once again competing for a national title on May 5 in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“Taking 40 cadets to Florida on a five-day overnight trip is expensive”.  “We have to take into account transportation, lodging and meals. The funds will come from the district, the Army and through cadet fundraising.” The Union High School Army JROTC Drill Team will be representing New Jersey at this prestigious event. “We have established the highest of standards. We are determined to make our community and New Jersey proud,” said sophomore Anya Keoheuangpraseuth.
