Troop 17 Scouts Whitewater Rafting at Lehigh River

BSA Troop 17

Kevin Radics, Scoutmaster

Two dozen Troop 17 Scouts recently ventured to the Lehigh River to go whitewater rafting. The Scouts paddled over nine miles through various rapids and rock laden waterfalls. In between rapids the Scouts splashed through water fights, practiced their rafting maneuvers, and had lots of laughs.

They enjoyed a river-side lunch on a rock outcropping and explored a bit of the ecosystem, even spotting a couple of snakes from a safe distance.

Everyone had a great time on the river and we’re looking forward to another rafting trip next year.

Troop 17 has more than 60 active members, boys 11-17. The Troop holds meetings once a week during the school year and runs an outing or camping trip once a month. To learn more visit Troop17ShortHills.com.
