This is a Juried Exhibit of photography by members of The NJ Photography Forum. NJ Photography Forum co-founder, Nancy Ori explains the theme of this exhibit:

“The role of women in the world has helped to ensure the stability, progress, and development of nations. On a local level, women play the largest decision-making role for our families. They are friends, caretakers, educators, lovers, warriors, leaders, and entrepreneurs.

In honor of Women’s History Month, this exhibit is about the women around us and not limited to submissions from only women. The featured Photographs tell a story or elicit an emotional reaction to relationships, unique careers, life choices and the many other things that women encounter and influence.

This can involve female traits, strengths and weaknesses, fashion trends, objects, politics, and behaviors of the women around us that have helped to change our lives. The exhibit highlights the complex balance between the joys and struggles of women taking on traditional male dominated roles and doing them from a different perspective.

From aprons to the modern workplace and shared housework, from still lives to documentary or environmental portraits, images about women are everywhere. Women have come through history wearing so many hats of influence in every area of life which have affected all of us.”

Made possible by funds from the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
