The Cranford Library’s will be kicking off our children’s summer reading program with a special “Touch-a-Truck” program, happening on June 13th from 11:00 a.m. to noon in the library’s parking lot (rain date: June 20th). This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Every Hero has a Story,” and what better way to celebrate than by meeting the heroes of Cranford? Get a close up look at some amazing trucks, meet the extraordinary people who drive them, and sign up for Summer Reading!

Touch-a-Truck is open to the public; however, our summer reading program is limited to residents of Cranford. The library’s Summer Reading program works like this: children keep track of the time they spend reading using logs supplied by the library. Each week, they stop by the library to report what they’ve read and claim a prize.

The Cranford Library’s annual Summer Reading program is an excellent resource in battling the accumulated loss of knowledge that can occur over the summer, known as the “summer slide.” The library will be running plenty of educational events for children and their families throughout the summer. We’ll learn about local heroes and heroes through history, the thrilling science of superheroes, and even animal heroes, visit Cranford.com/Library for more information.
